Prepare a copy of your spreadsheet
Keep the original spreadsheet unchanged and work on a copy. Use consistent column headings, explicit dates and separate money-in and money-out columns. Preserve voucher references and currency information. Remove summary rows from the transaction list so totals are not mistaken for extra payments.
Try column mapping with fictional data
Open the Excel import workflow in the demo and use a sample file with fictional entries. Map each source column to the appropriate field, then review the preview. Tally-style cash ledger layouts are supported in the demo; this is a spreadsheet workflow, not a direct Tally connection.
Resolve uncertainty before importing
Check ambiguous dates, missing references, duplicate rows and opening balances. Confirm whether an amount is a receipt or an advance. Do not combine different currencies into one balance. A successful file upload does not establish that every transaction has been interpreted correctly.
Compare the resulting ledger
After a demo import, review the dated entries and compare the imported amounts with the sample source rows. Check that the selected borrower and agreement are correct. Review principal and interest allocations separately from cash totals.
Export a record for review
Choose the relevant ledger, filters and date range before exporting. Confirm the exported figures against the on-screen view and explain any corrections to the reviewer. Live financial import and posting remain unavailable; do not upload real financial records to the public demo.
